Thermal Expansion is an add-on to Buildcraftand adds a wide range of machines, pipes and world gen to the game. Thermal Expansion also adds a way of storing MJ.

Author: Kinglemming

Edit: ChaosSlayer24

Many new engines and machines are added through thermal expansion such as various new machines that are compatible with buildcraft.

Engines[]

Steam Engine

TE Steam Engine

Steam Engine

This engine consumes Water and Solid Fuels in order to produce MJ (BC energy) Max/Min: 0.2 MJ/t / 2.0 MJ/t. Water can be added either by liquid pipes, like liquidducts, or added by hand by right-clicking with water bucket. Engines can be connected to wooden conductive pipes and Redstone Energy Conduits (use wrench/hammer to output "orange" on the conduit)

If not enough energy is being consumed, then the power output and consumption will be reduced. The engine will overheat and shutdown. If that happens, smack it with a Crescent Hammer or BC wrench to restart it. The engine's gui allows you to view the energy output, storage, and temperature. There is a tab with the option to choose whether a redstone signal turns the engine on.

Magmatic Engine

Magmatic engine

This engine consumes Lava in order to produce MJ (BC energy).  Max/Min: 0.4 MJ/t / 4.0 MJ/t  Lava must be fed with liquid pipes,ThermalExpansion's liquiducts. You can add lava by right-clicking the engine with a lava bucket in-hand.  Engines can be connected to wooden conductive pipes and Redstone Energy Conduits (use wrench/hammer to output "orange" on the conduit)

Machines[]

Other machines are included such as the Magma crucible which can turn cobble and netherrack, etc. into lava. A powered furnace that cooks and smelts items using Buildcraft power (Minecraft Joules).
